Heat: Environmentally-friendly and Effective

Bed Bug Heat Treatments available in Baltimore Metro, Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Richmond Metro
Thermal remediation, commonly known as heat treatments, is one option in an arsenal of commercial bed bug treatments. Home Paramount typically uses bed bug heat treatments in combination with other control methods, such as traditional pesticide applications, for comprehensive bed bug control.

Thermal bed bug remediation is often requested by clients because it is a proven method of exterminating bed bugs in an environmentally responsible manner. Use of heat to kill bed bugs offers the advantages of immediate results, the ability to treat items not amenable to liquid treatment, and reduction in required cleaning and site preparation by the customer.

Specialized mobile heating units raise and maintain air temperatures within infested areas to a temperature of 120°F to 135°F. This temperature range eliminates all stages of bed bug development from egg to adult.

Home Paramount is happy to provide you with a complimentary estimate for thermal bed bug remediation. Factors involved in the estimate include the severity of the infestation and size of the treatment zone. Because of variances in these factors, a customized estimate requires a free on-site inspection.

Bed bug heat chambers available for purchase

Take control of the situation with thermal chambers. Bed bugs do not fly but rather move from room to room by attaching themselves and their eggs to object such as clothing or books. Heat chambers reduce the transportation risk by treating the items before they circulate through a building. These small-scale units provide clients with the opportunity to immediately apply heat once bed bugs are identified to arrest their movement and prevent a larger infestation.

Heat levels rise to optimal temperatures between 120F and 155F, which kills all stages of bed bugs including eggs (which are more resilient and require a longer heat exposure) but remains tolerable for most heated items. As a point of reference, the interior of a car reaches a temperature of approximately 135F on a hot day.

Bed bug heat chambers are safe for most items, including:

  • Clothes
  • Bedding
  • Shoes
  • Electronics
  • Toys
  • Books
  • Files
  • Papers
  • Luggage

Heat chambers are easy to use and are an effective tool against the spread of bed bugs. Simply set it up, load with items and press on. The included timer automatically shuts off the unit when the bed bug heat treatment cycle is done.
