Memorial Day 2017

Many of our clients and co-workers have the privilege of living near the nation’s capital, arguably the best place to celebrate the Memorial holiday, honoring those who died serving our country. We’ll be closed on Memorial Day, so thought we should offer some suggestions for how Home Paramount families and friends in the D.C. metro can spent the day:

Events in Washington D.C
  • Saturday, May 27, 11 a.m.  Rolling Thunder and Wreath-laying at the Navy Memorial
  • Sunday, May 28, 2017, 12 p.m.:  Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally departing from the Pentagon
  • Sunday, May 28, 8 p.m.:  National Memorial Day Concert on the West Lawn of the Capital
  • Monday, May 29, 9 a.m.:  Wreath-laying ceremony at the World War II Memorial
  • Monday, May 29, 9 a.m.:  Wreath-laying ceremony at the Air Force Memorial   
  • Monday, May 29, 11 a.m.:  Wreath-laying ceremony and concert at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 
  • Monday, May 29, 1 p.m.:  Wreath laying ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial 
  • Monday, May 29, 2 p.m.:  National Memorial Day Parade, Constitution Avenue

Events in Maryland and Virginia
  • Saturday, May 27-29: Rockville, Maryland’s Hometown Holidays street festival
  • Saturday, May 27-29:  Chestertown, Maryland Tea Party Festival
  • Saturday, May 27-29:  Vienna, Virginia Viva Vienna community festival
  • Saturday, May 27, 1:30 p.m.:  Sharpsburg, Maryland parade ending at Antietam National Cemetery
  • Sunday, May 28, 8 p.m.:  Concert at Wolf Trap National park featuring the Marine Band and fireworks
  • Monday, May 29, 1-7 p.m.:  Alexandria, Virginia Memorial Day Jazz Festival in Waterfront Park
  • Monday, May 29, 9 a.m -5 p.m.:  Falls Church, Virginia Memorial Day Festival
